| View in browser Mexico Widens its Lead Over Canada and China as America’s Top Trading Partner According to U.S. Census Bureau data, Mexico widened its lead as the United States’ largest trading partner as reported in June of 2026: $89.2 billion. While Mexico has a higher nominal tariff on non-compliant goods, most of its exports classify as “duty-free access,” making trade between the two nations more equitable. Interpower IEC 60320 components such as IEC 60320 Inlets, Outlets, and rewirable Sheet E Plug Connectors make exporting electrical designs easy.  Interpower-made products are Tariff-Free! Mexico overtook Canada in 2021 for the first time, and it continues to distance itself from its two top competitors—in June 2026, Canada was second at $67.9 billion, and China third at $34.7 billion. Canadian tariffs remain high on goods coming into the U.S. such as lumber and dairy products—dairy tariffs on milk from Canada into the U.S. is between 200-300%, but there are tariff quotas that require some ninja math, so that percentages can shift lower. According to Census Bureau data Laredo, Texas, remained the nation’s busiest international trade gateway, handling $36.5 billion in border trade. Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport came in at number two with $35.9 billion, and third was the Port of Los Angeles at $25.8 billion.   Port Laredo’s trade volume accounted for more than one-third of all U.S.-Mexico commerce during the month, bolstering its position as the major hub for trucking, rail, and customs operations. Topping the list of goods moving through Port Laredo were automotive parts, vehicles, machinery, and electronics.   Our goal is to make it faster and easier for you to design and export your products.   If there is a particular topic you would like us to cover, simply reply to this email with your request.
